剧集立足于红色背景下，以余光明（张宁江饰）带领的“连汀独立团”血战七天七夜为剧情，再现了革命岁月中的共产党员和红军战士的英勇善战，不畏生死的形象。。本赛季，医学三队（首尔大学、延世大学、成均馆大学）和理工科三队（首尔大学、KAIST、浦项工大）将围绕“理科之王”的位置展开对决。首尔大学共有2支队伍参加，成均馆大学将首次参赛。。In the near future, Norway is occupied by Russia on behalf of the European Union, due to the fact that the newly elected environmental friendly Norwegian government has stopped the all important oil- and gas-production in the North Sea。
