本作は小説「幕末一撃必殺隊」をもとにした松本次郎のマンガ「いちげき」を映像化する青春活劇。幕末期、江戸を騒がせていた勤皇浪士を自称する者や薩摩藩士による御用盗に対応するため、農民を集めて結成された特殊戦闘部隊「一撃必殺隊」の活躍が描かれる。。Season two begins with Johan being treated for drug use at a facility on the island of Kallskar. However, this facility isn’t all that it seems. Johan learns that a former patient had disappeared without a trace. The series doesn’t just focus on Johan, but also expands to follow other patients at the facility and all the struggles they have.。
