"Daughters of the Dust" tells the story of a family of African-Americans who have lived for many years on a Southern offshore island, and of how they come together one day in 1902 to celebrate their ancestors before some of them leave for the North. The film is narrated by an unborn child, and ancestors already dead also seem to be as present as the living.。15岁的艾利克斯来自一个天主教家庭，他希望自己将来能成为一个牧师。当他无意中发现并打开了一个神秘的盒子之后，放出了一个一心要占据他身体的恶魔。艾利克斯必须找到办法打败这个一直在折磨儿童的古老的恶魔，否则将会毁掉他和所有他爱的人。。
