葛健豪16岁时与蔡蓉峰结婚，婚后，家境每况愈下。为维持生计，葛健豪帮夫君在上海谋了一份官职。一八九九年，三十四岁的葛健豪带着儿女随蔡蓉峰在上海生活。在秋瑾的影响下，回到老家的葛健豪揣怀着追求光明的中国梦，迈着一双小脚，携儿带女从深山走出，走向长沙、上海、武汉，乃至万里之外的法兰西。回国后，二子蔡林蒸、三子蔡和森、儿媳向警予先后为革命牺牲。母亲承受着一个又一个残酷打击，从悲痛中站起，带着孙辈们继续跟党往前走，直至送走身边最后一个孙儿后，老死在老家的深山丛林之中。毛泽东同志为她题写挽联“老妇人新妇道儿英烈女英雄”。。台灣新銳導演顏皓軒首部短片作品《送行》找來新銳演員李悠與胡智強，飾演一對喪母的姐弟，莊嚴葬禮上的各種繁瑣雜事，卻因習俗儀式讓一切變得荒謬。影片將日常生活的荒謬轉化為獨特的幽默感，細膩地將思念放入生活，讓悲傷舉重若輕。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
