石鼓山是崞县（即今原平市）地面上的一大名胜，也是三晋大地上的一处风景奇葩。昔日的崞阳镇（即古崞县县城）东南20余公里处还有一座名山叫作五峰山，也是当地一处名胜。古人将天涯石鼓山与五峰山匹配媲美，时有“天涯是为天涯，五峰好比地角”。警探汤子维在劫案时与劫匪火拼对峙时失去了并肩作战的战友，被劫匪逃脱后，不顾阻拦誓要侦破案件。他联手新上任的搭档杨震找来了百步穿杨的女猎手金姗姗、深藏不露的使刀高手关一刀，四人费心调查一步步接近了案件的真相，却没想到陷入了更为复杂纠葛的境况......。On the same day Abbey is diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she and her girlfriend, Miranda, are invited to dinner by Miranda's former self-help group to celebrate the return of their estranged friend, Scott, who left to discover the origins of their practices.
