舞台は能登半島の中心に位置する石川県七尾市。不眠症に悩む高校1年生の中見丸太（なかみがんた）は、学校の使われていない天文台を見つける。しかし、そこには同じクラスの曲伊咲（まがりいさき）という先客がいた。丸太と同じ不眠症で、こっそり昼寝するため物置となっている天文台を使っていた伊咲。不眠症という秘密でつながった2人は、休み時間や放課後になると一緒に天文台で昼寝する同士に。やがて眠ることのできない退屈な夜に街を散歩して仲を深めていく。そんなあるとき、天文台を勝手に使っていたことがばれてしまい、立ち入り禁止の危機に迫られる。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs. As a result of his body not being found the latter will have to wait for five years until they can inherit the count's money. Very upsetting indeed, all the more as they are required to keep up the Kéraudren estate in the meantime. To collect money, nephews and nieces organize a Son et Lumière show at the manor while busily looking for the missing corpse. But, unexpectedly, they get killed in turns. Murders or accidents? Jean-Marie, his fiancée Micheline and his cousin Edwige investigate and finally succeed in exposing the culprit.
